PERCOLATON TEST:

Percolation Test, commonly referred to as Perc Test, will determine leaching rates and permeability of soils.  This test can be performed at upper soil strata or at deeper strata, following completion of a test boring, using placed casing.

Perc Tests are useful in design of sanitary waste systems, cesspools or septic tank installation; also, for the management of stormwater run-off which is required by most local code to be retained on private property using drywells and/or French drains.

TEST PITS:

Open pit inspection by the Suffolk County Health Department or Nassau County Health Department is sometimes required.  Our ---------------------- Backhoe is available.

The unit can also be employed to expose existing foundations for examination by Engineers and Contractors  to design extensions, load increases, etc.

GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELL:

If groundwater level is critical to the design and installation of sub-surface structures, observation wells can be installed.  PVC monitoring wells constructed of Well Screen and Riser of varying diameters and lengths can be monitored by our staff or client staff over a period of time.

EXCAVATION AND LAND CLEARING:

In-house equipment to clear wooded sites to access boring program; or generalized land clearing prior to construction.

GEOTECHNICAL REVIEW AND ENGINEERING RECOMMENDATION:

Through our association with J.R. Holzmacher, P.E., LLC, a fully faceted Engineering Firm located in Ronkonkoma, our boring reports can be further enhanced by a comprehensive review as prepared by Michael Simon, P.E..  The report routinely evaluates the soil boring and assigns a soil bearing value to each split spoon sample.  Foundation recommendation are offered and sanitary concerns are addressed.  The firm is readily available to take any project from conception to completion.

HELICAL PILE INSTALLATION

We are expanding to offer competitive bidding on the installation of Danbro helical piles. Angelo DeLiso is certified by Chance. Our brand new, state of the art, Toro Dingo with on-board computer will facilitate the helical pile installation and reporting process.

TEST BORING:

Borings and soil sampling are performed utilizing a geoprobe drill rig, or other industry standard, according to ASTM D1586 Penetration Test and Split Barrel Sampling of Soils.  Following ASTM D2488 Recommended Practice for Description of Soils and Uniform Soil Classifications, a report is generated which illustrates measured groundwater level, if encountered; soil profile and soils description with blow counts.  ‘N’ value, standard penetration resistance, is an indicator of safe bearing capacity of the soil.
